OKC Improv

Come out and enjoy OKC Improv’s 2:40 performance at this year’s Plaza District Festival. They’re more than just Oklahoma’s premiere showcase of the best local and regional improvisational comedy and theater, they’re a non-profit community arts organization devoted to building a thriving and sustainable improv scene. OKC Improv was founded in December, 2009 by co-producers Marcy Fleming, Buck Vrazel, Clint Vrazel, and Eric Webb. All four have been active in the local improv scene since 2000.

Details!

• Plaza Bingo will run from 12:00pm to 6:00pm
• Anyone who attends the event has the opportunity to participate
• Find the OECU Tent that morning to get set up for the hunt!

The Hunt!

• Bingo-style card for the  hunt
• Participants will match a photos on the card to items inside the store.  Each in-store item will have a code that the participant will record on the bingo card
• Anyone who completes a “bingo” will be eligible for prizes
•  Grand prize to be drawn from all eligible bingo cards and announced around 7:00pm from the stage and on The Spy
• Anyone who completes the entire card will get a free 2011 Keep it Local card
• Others will also have prizes from local businesses, including Collected Thread and The Riley Group

• Grand Prize – $500 OECU Visa Gift Card!!!

The Wurly birds are great blend of genres including Rock/Soul/Pop. Members include Taylor Johnson with Vox, Guitars and Keys, Chris Anderson with Vox, Keys and Guitars, Taylor Overholser on the Bass, Jerred Murphyon the Drums and Matt Lester with the Vox, Vibraslap and Auxiliary. Kacey Walkingstick

Come out to the this years Plaza District Festival on October 1st to take in the unique style of Kacey Walkingstick. Her originality consists of Acoustic and Indie genres. Band members include: Jacob Wright- drums, backing vocals & keys, George Wright- bass and backing vocals, Clint Walkingstick- guitar and backing vocals, and Kacey Walkingstick- keys and vocal. The Boom Bang

Come out and enjoy the band The Boom Bang at this year’s Plaza District Festival October 1^st 2001. The Boom Band will begin performing on the stage at 9:00 PM. The Boom Bang is a collection of Garage/Surf/Punk genres. Members include James Smith vocals, Tommy McKenzie on the guitar Weston Lorance on the bass and Charles Whetstone drums. COOP Ale Works is sponsoring the Plaza District Festival!!!!

COOP Ale Works started brewing on January 9th of 2009 in Oklahoma City. They want Oklahoman’s to drink local and support Oklahoma owned breweries. They will be at the Plaza District Festival sporting a very fancy trailer so look out and enjoy COOP Ale Works!

Do you often get told you act too young for your age? Do people tell you to grow up or stop goofing around? Well come put your skills to our test! We are looking for a Children’s Activities Coordinator for the Plaza Districts annual Festival that will be held Oct. 1st 2011. Your duties could include (but not limited to) fun art projects, interactive games, inflatables or messy activities parents will just love to dirty the car with. Coordinator will work with the festival committee for the summer until the event (Oct. 1st 2011).  Email Kristen Vails at kristen@plazadistrict.org
